Within Temptation

Within Temptation is a Dutch metal/rock band founded in 1996 by vocalist Sharon den Adel and guitarist Robert Westerholt. Their music is described as symphonic metal, although their early stuff, like Enter, was gothic metal. In an interview, Den Adel said they fell into a symphonic rock genre with various influences. In a later interview with 3VOOR12, Sharon stated that “we consider ourselves more a symphonic rock band … we are in my opinion no gothic band”.

After the release of their first album Enter, the band became prominent in the underground scene. It was not until 2001 that they became known to the general public, with the single “Ice Queen” from the album Mother Earth, which reached #2 on the Dutch charts. Since then, the band won the Conamus Exportprijs four years in a row. Their next album The Silent Force debuted at #1 on the Dutch charts, as did their latest, The Heart of Everything. In 2008, they released a live DVD and CD, Black Symphony, recorded with the Metropole Orchestra. This collection was followed in 2009 with An Acoustic Night at the Theatre.

Long-term partners Robert Westerholt (on guitar) and Sharon den Adel (Vocals) began the band in 1996, after Robert left his previous band, The Circle. The Circle re-named themselves Voyage and released an album called Embrace, including a song featuring Sharon den Adel. Soon after that release the band broke up.

Robert then joined with Sharon in forming Within Temptation, including former The Circle band members Jeroen van Veen on bass guitar and Michiel Papenhove on guitar, as well as Martijn Westerholt on the keyboard and Dennis Leeflang on drums (later replaced by Ivar de Graaf). They were offered a recording contract and signed to DSFA Records later that year, beginning work on their first release

Jeffree Star (born Jeffrey Lynn Steininger, November 15, 1986), is an American model, fashion  designer, make-up artist, DJ, and singer-songwriter residing in the Los Angeles area. He is an  Internet celebrity known for his popularity on MySpace as well as his fashion line and from his  transgressive, gender-bending appearance and persona while calling himself “Queen of the  Internet” and “Queen of the Beautifuls”. Star has leveraged his fame as an androgynous model and  aesthetic talents to launch his own clothing line and forays into acting and DJing.

Early life
Star was born in Orange County, California. Star recalls that he “discovered that he was gay in his  early childhood”. His father died in his childhood thus Star was left alone while his working model  mother went on assignments. He began experimenting with his mother’s makeup at a young age,  leading to an obsessive compulsive interest, and convinced his mom to let him wear make-up to  school when he was in junior high.

Star’s make-up artist career was started at age fifteen as an “underage gender-bending club kid”  wearing make-up, dying his hair in day-glo colors and cross dressing which in turn led to receiving  large amounts of attention from people both in and out of school. Star’s popularity came from wearing women’s clothing and accessories in high school. Star recalls that his obsessive compulsive disorder as a child pushed him into wearing his mother’s makeup and clothes.

On weekends, Star recounts using a “fake ID to attend Hollywood clubs dressed in mini dresses and nine inch high heels where celebrities would contract him for make-up work at their homes”, or “hiring [Star] as a model.” He reports that his weekend partying at clubs and the make-up advice he gave was the foundation to his modeling career.

Black Veil Brides (abbreviated BVB) is an American post-hardcore and which formed 2006 in Hollywood, California, USA, The band is composed of Andy Sixx (Lead Vocals), Ashley Purdy (Bass, Backing Vocals), Jake Pitts (Lead Guitar), Jinxx (Guitar, Violin) and Christian Coma (Drums). BVB is currently signed to the label Universal Records. In the Summer of 2010, Black Veil Brides emerged as one of the hottest acts, releasing a chart topping debut record, and embarking on a wildly successful headlining tour. Their debut album, We Stitch These Wounds was released July 20, 2010 on Independent Label Standby Records. It sold nearly 11,000 copies in its first week, good enough for #36 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, and #1 on the Billboard Independent chart.

Black Veil Brides inception started in 2006 in Ohio, when Vocalist Andy Six began seeking players to create a vision of a modern day Misfits meets Motley Crue and KISS with lyrical content that pertained to the outcasts. Songs that could be a rallying cry for the disenfranchised and bring back the community and passion that was once so prevalent in Rock n’ Roll.

Early on the band went through various member changes to accomplish this, but it wasn’t until 2009 when Andy moved to Los Angeles that the vision started to come into fruition. The music video for the song Knives and Pens was created June 2009; it’s a song that spoke of the difficulty of growing up as an outcast in America and the struggles that face youth on a day to day basis. The video amast thousands of plays within the first week alone and by the time the video was on YouTube for a month it had already reached views in the millions!

Several weeks after the video was released Andy began the hunt to find members to fill out the band. Through a Craigslist Ad Andy contacted Bassist Ashley Purdy. Andy had known of Ash from his previous bands in Hollywood. With Ash coming from a more dirty Rock n’ Roll and Glam Metal background, he and Andy instantly got on the same page about image and direction that the band needed to go in. Together they were able to shape the concept and visual imagery of the band into that of a band they always wanted to be in and the band you now see today.

Still on the look out for players that both musically and visually complimented them and who also shared the same vision; They eventually recruited Jinxx. Andy and Ash had known of him previously in the Hollywood circuit and began the writing process. Jinxx being a more classically trained musician was able to add a new dimension to the line up. However, the band felt they were still missing a shredder; someone who could bring the heavy metal and melodic sound the band was looking for. Jinxx then recommended his buddy Jake Pitts that he previously had played with and already had a great writing relationship with. After meeting with Jake and seeing his musicianship, it was certain he was the man for the job. In September 2010, Christian Coma steps in to replace Sandra Alvarenga as the bands drummer. “CC” had also played a stint with Jake and Jinxx in a previous band so they were certain his showmanship and style lent itself to be perfect for the project. In the midst of this time the band gained legal representation from Dina Lapolt at Lapolt Law and Management from Blasko at Mercenary Management.

Kesha Rose Sebert (born March 1, 1987), better known by the mononym Kesha ( /ˈkɛʃə/ KESH-ə, stylized Ke$ha), is an American pop singer, rapper and songwriter. At age eighteen, Kesha was signed to Dr. Luke‘s record label and publishing company. Although an active musician since 2005, singing background vocals and writing songs for other artists, her breakthrough only came in early 2009 after appearing on Flo Rida‘s number one single, “Right Round.” Her debut single, “Tik Tok“, released in late 2009, reached number one in eleven countries. Her debut album, Animal, was released in January 2010 and debuted at number one in the US. By September, Kesha had sold two million albums worldwide.

Image and artistry Kesha has been noted for her party girl image, however, she insists that critics should look past her image, saying “I have been working on realizing this dream, my path, my mission, for years. I’ve really invested a lot of thought, time and effort into it. […] I think it’s a bummer when people don’t represent that properly, when they portray me as purely one-dimensional.” She has said that the dollar sign in her stage name was meant to be ironic, in that she “actually [stood] for the opposite of putting a lot of emphasis on money.”

Kesha’s styling comprises messy hair, smudged makeup and a wardrobe she describes as “garbage-chic”. The look developed from her being poor and trying to brand herself as best she could on a budget. Her stage makeup is characterized by dramatic makeup at her right eye, inspired by A Clockwork Orange, and body glitter. Kesha came in at number fifty-six on Maxims 2010 Hot 100 “definitive list of the world’s most beautiful women”.
